Scotland’s David Denton and Sean Maitland to miss start of Six Nations

• Injured duo will miss Scotland’s opening match with France

• Denton has torn his calf whilst Maitland has shoulder problem

Scotland have confirmed David Denton and Sean Maitland will miss the start of the Six Nations through injury.

Glasgow winger Maitland sustained a shoulder injury during his club side’s European Champions Cup defeat to Bath on Sunday, while Edinburgh number eight Denton damaged a calf playing against Bordeaux in the European Challenge Cup on Friday night.
