Valentino Rossi wins opening MotoGP of the season from Andrea Dovizioso

• Seven-time champion Rossi won from third on the grid in Qatar

• Andrea Iannone took third to complete an all-Italian podium

• Bernie Ecclestone keen to explore idea of women only Grand Prix

Valentino Rossi narrowly got the better of Andrea Dovizioso to win the opening race of the 2015 MotoGP season in Qatar.

Rossi, a seven-time world champion in MotoGP, had started on the third row on his Yamaha but worked his way up the grid and claimed victory by just 0.174sec ahead of a fellow Italian, Dovizioso.
