Juventus reject FA offer to mark 30th anniversary of Heysel disaster

• Italian club says it appreciated FA offer to lay wreath in Turin

• Some 39 fans, mainly from Juventus, died before 1985 European Cup final


Juventus have rejected an offer by the Football Association to lay a wreath in Turin this week to mark the 30th anniversary of the Heysel disaster.


With England playing Italy at the Juventus Stadium on Tuesday, the FA wanted to commemorate the deaths of 39 people, nearly all of them Juventus supporters, before the 1985 European Cup final against Liverpool by laying a wreath at a memorial outside the ground in Turin.
