Daniel Purvis crowned champion at British Gymnastics Championships

• Amy Tinkler held off Claudia Fragapane to win title

• Purvis takes all-round crown from Frank Baines

• Louis Smith took gold on the pommel horse

Daniel Purvis was crowned men’s all-around champion at the British Gymnastics Championships while Amy Tinkler won the women’s event in Liverpool. Purvis scored 88.500 to take the title of British champion ahead of Frank Baines (86.350) with Sam Oldham and James Hall tied for third (85.700).


Last year’s champion, Max Whitlock, only performed on the pommel horse after an illness, where he finished in bronze medal position with a score of 14.600 behind Louis Smith’s gold‑winning tally of 15.500, with Oldham in silver.
